Vector Geomatics is a privately owned and operated professional land surveying company with offices in Fort St John, Kelowna, Chilliwack and Calgary which provide a wide range of professional land surveying, municipal engineering, planning, and land information/mapping solutions to oil and gas, transportation and land development clients within British Columbia and Alberta.

We are seeking an experienced computer programmer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, coding, and testing software programs for our company. You will work closely with our team of developers to develop high-quality software applications that meet the needs of our clients.

Computer Programmer (Fort St. John)

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining software on Windows workstations. Your duties will include and are not limited to:

  • Maintain existing computer programs by making modifications as required
  • Design, develop and maintain mobile applications for Android and iOS platforms
  • Write, modify, integrate and test software code for ESRI ArcGIS software and extensions
  • Identify and communicate technical problems, processes and solutions
  • Assist in the collection and documentation of user’s requirements
  • Research and evaluate a variety of software products


  • Diploma in Computer Science, Software Development or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in software development
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle and best practices
