Vector Geomatics is a privately employee owned and operated professional land surveying company with offices in Fort St John, Kelowna, Chilliwack, Prince George and Calgary which provides a wide range of professional land surveying, and geomatics solutions to oil and gas, transportation, municipal and land development sectors within British Columbia and Alberta.

Position Overview

Vector Geomatics requires a Professional Land Surveyor or Senior Geomatics Technician, in our Fort St John and Chilliwack locations to enhance our land surveying business operations. The successful candidate is responsible for overseeing and managing a variety of surveying projects, including cadastral, topographic, construction, monitoring, and surveys on First Nations lands. This role ensures the accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of survey work.

Job Duties

  • Oversee and manage a variety of survey projects from initiation to completion, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Coordinate survey work, providing clear scope, scheduling, and task assignments while offering mentorship and training.
  • Foster strong client relationships, manage expectations, and engage in business development.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to health, safety, and professional standards.
  • Work with Senior Management and Project Supervisors to achieve company objectives.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Commission as a British Columbia Land Surveyor/Canada Land Surveyor in good standing or a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Geomatics Technician is required.
  • Must have significant survey experience with a background in Oil and Gas and/or Municipal Surveying.
  • Must have engineering survey and construction layout experience.
  • Must be capable of managing multiple survey projects and clients simultaneously in an organized way.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 BC driver’s license.
