Jason Whale, B.Sc., BCLS, CLS
President & Chief Executive Officer

Jason is CEO and founder of Vector Geomatics Land Surveying Ltd. Jason has been in the surveying industry for the last 35 years, 18 of them have been directly involved with the Oil & Gas industry in Northeastern British Columbia. Jason has led the Vector Geomatics team in numerous large projects since its inception in 2006, many of the past clients still remain current. He remains active in all operational planning and project management of survey services. Jason is responsible for strategic planning, business development and serving as the ‘voice’ of the company.

Jason is a graduate of the University of Toronto, holding a Bachelor of Science in Surveying Science.


Greg Calvert, BCLS
Vice President of Operations

Over the last 15 years, Greg has been involved with the surveying industry throughout Northeastern British Columbia. Greg has in-depth experience in operational planning and project management. His experience includes Oil & Gas, Transmission, Cadastral, Municipal, Construction Layout and Engineering Surveys. Throughout his time in the surveying industry, Greg has held a role at all levels, which allows him to understand projects and client’s needs, and oversee crews with expertise.

Greg is a graduate of Northern Alberta’s Institute of Technology in Geomatics Engineering.


Patrick Randall, BCLS
Senior Project Manager

Patrick is a Senior Project Manager with over 10 years’ experience in the surveying industry. Patrick has surveyed in various locations throughout British Columbia, Alberta and the Yukon. A large part of Patrick’s experience is working with the Oil & Gas Industry, and still maintains relationships with the large players of the industry. Pat’s experience includes Oil & Gas, Cadastral, Municipal, Construction Layout, GPS/Conventional Control and Engineering Surveys.

Patrick is a graduate of British Columbia’s Institute of Technology in Geomatics Engineering.


Mike Yastremski, BCLS
Senior Project Manager

Mike is Senior Project Manager with 15 years’ experience in the surveying industry. Prior to entering the role of Project Manager, Mike has spent year’s active in the field as a Party Chief.

Mike has worked on large construction projects, such as, BC Hydro’s Site C Dam, and has experience with a variety of Oil & Gas projects like small and large diameter pipelines and well sites, and heavy construction projects. Mike joined the Vector Geomatics team in 2017.

Mike is a graduate of Southern Alberta’s Institute of Technology in Geomatics Engineering, and holds his Bachelor of Technology from British Columbia’s Institute of Technology.


Troy Johnson
Senior Project Manager

Troy is a Senior Project Manager bringing over 20 years’ experience in the surveying industry in Northeastern British Columbia. Prior to becoming a Project Manager, Troy was a party chief in the field prior to taking on a Senior Project Manager role. The versatility that Troy has gained throughout his surveying experience allows Troy to better understand the final results clients are looking for. Troy’s experience includes Oil & Gas, Pipeline, Construction and Municipal.

Troy is a graduate of the College of Geographic Sciences, holding a Survey Technologist Diploma and a Survey Technician Diploma.


Christian Canuel
Drafting Manager

Christian brings over 15 years of drafting experience to Vector Geomatics. Christian’s drafting experience is in Legal, Construction, Municipal, and Oil & Gas for the Northeastern British Columbia region. Christian is technically efficient in GIS and CAD system, and continually updates and creates new routines and commands within the CAD software to better serve Vector and its clients. Christian is responsible for development of survey plans from capturing data points, completing survey calculations and drafting survey plans.


Andy Fochuk
GIS Manager

Andy is Vector Geomatics’ GIS Manager, bringing over 25 years of experience with as a GIS analyst. With technical expertise in GIS software, ArcMAP and AutoCAD systems, Andy manages GIS/mapping related projects and staff. He has contributed to numerous local and regional scale projects across Northeastern British Columbia, for Oil & Gas, Local, Legal and Municipal surveys.

Andy is a graduate of Sir Sandford Fleming College from the Cartographic/GIS Specialist Program.

Tyler Fox, ALS, BCLS, P.Eng.
Vice President of Municipal

Tyler joined Vector Geomatics in 2015, when the Kelowna office opened in order to expand and diversify operations. Tyler has 15 years’ experience as a professional land surveyor and a professional engineer, he has managed numerous engineering, legal, and construction survey projects. His experience encompasses a wide range of geodetic and cadastral survey applications with an emphasis on the employment of advanced positioning techniques.

Tyler has led projects with the use of innovative technologies including UAVs, 3D laser scanners, RTK and static GPS, and high precision levels and robotic total stations.

Tyler is a graduate of University of Calgary, holding a Bachelor of Science in Geomatics Engineering.


Corey M. Doherty, BCLS, ALS, P.Eng.
Project Manager

Corey joined the Kelowna branch of Vector Geomatics in 2019 bringing over 10 years of diverse experience to his role as Project Manager. Corey has been involved in the implementation of various construction, legal, engineering, bathymetric, and oil and gas projects both in the field and office. He has contributed to major projects such as The BOW skyscraper, Calgary’s West LRT, Southeast Stoney Trail, Inuvik Tuktoyaktuk Highway in addition to several major transmission line projects throughout Western Canada including Site C Transmission Line, Peace Region Electrical Supply (PRES) Transmission Line, and Bipole III Transmission Reliability Project.

Corey excels at managing and delivering projects with complex logistics and planning while achieving quality project results within budget and schedule constraints. He is committed to providing effective leadership, a strong safety culture and innovation to each project regardless of scale or scope.

Corey is a graduate of University of Calgary holding a Bachelor in Science in Geomatics Engineering.


Alexander Dzielski, BCLS, P.Eng.
Project Manager

Alexander joined the Kelowna branch of Vector Geomatics in 2020 where he obtained his commission as a British Columbia Land Surveyor and a Professional Engineer.  Alexander excels in managing projects which utilize advanced geospatial technologies such as Single/Multi Beam Sonar, UAV LiDAR/Photogrammetry, as well as terrestrial LiDAR.  This experience, paired with Alexander’s legal and engineering survey background, results in the implementation of unique geospatial solutions that increase efficiencies and improve quality.

Prior to Alexander pursuing a profession in Land Surveying, he won two national hockey championships.  The first in 2008 with the Kitchener Rangers (OHL), and the second in 2011 with the Alaska Aces (ECHL).  Alexander finished his hockey career in 2016 with the University of Calgary Dino’s, where he balanced his education as a student athlete and graduated in 4 years as an Academic All-Canadian with a Geomatic Engineering Degree.


Eric Collins, B.Sc.Eng. B.B.A.
Project Manager

Eric Collins is the Geomatics Lead with over 20 years’ experience in the surveying industry. Before becoming part of Vector Geomatics in 2018, he was the proprietor of his own surveying enterprise in New Mexico and continues to uphold his surveying license.  Eric excels in the adept processing, adjustment, cleanup, and seamless integration of extensive survey data into diverse software platforms, whether acquired through conventional methods, GNSS, or LIDAR. 

Eric is a graduate of New Mexico State University, holding a Bachelor of Science in Survey Engineering and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Management.  

Chris Turner, B.Sc.Eng., ALS
Branch Manager

Vector Geomatics welcomed Chris in 2016, when they expanded and opened their Calgary office. Chris has over 20 years’ experience in surveying within the oil and gas industry. Chris has spent over 10 years in a managerial role, working closely with large oil and gas companies throughout the Calgary region. With Chris’ experience of working as party chief in the field, as well as project manager, he understands what is required to complete a project from start to finish in order to deliver desirable results for his clients.

Chris is a graduate of University of Calgary, holding a Bachelor of Science in Geomatics Engineering.


Chad Burwash, ALS
Project Manager

Chad is a well-rounded surveyor with over 15 years of survey experience in municipal, structural, hydrographic, and civil surveying. Chad achieved his professional designation as an Alberta Land Surveyor in January of 2018. Since this achievement, Chad has had the opportunity to manage multiple construction survey scopes on a variety of small and large projects throughout Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan. Chad’s extensive experience in construction and legal projects ensures projects are completed efficiently and safely.


Howard Cofield-Forseth
HSE Manager

Howard is a highly motivated and passionate safety professional with a proven record of reducing annual lost time incidents and total recordable incidents. Driven to ensure everyone from business owners to front line personnel are aware of the health, safety, and environment (HSE) tools they have available and how they work to their benefit and well-being. Hands-on HSE experience has been gained from a variety of industries including global oil and gas exploration, local commercial and residential construction, and utility markets. Howard has completed several projects without incident in extremely high-hazard work areas. Creative, resourceful, and adaptive individual who thrives in fast-paced and dynamic field or corporate environments. Strong ability to prioritize tasks to achieve operational initiatives, manage multiple assets and provide the necessary support they require. Well-spoken and confident facilitator who can concisely deliver materials to large, diverse groups.

Chris Beaugrand, BCLS, CLS, ALS, PMP, P.Eng.
Branch Manager

Chris is a Professional Land Surveyor, Project Management Professional and Professional Geomatics Engineer with 15 years of experience that has successfully delivered projects to clients in both public and private sectors. Throughout his career, Chris has gained experience across a variety of disciplines including; municipal land development, electrical utility, transportation, construction, engineering and hydrography. He has a drive for providing timely, cost effective, fit for purpose and quality service to clients.

Chris is a graduate of University of Calgary, holding a Bachelor of Science in Geomatics Engineering.


Ted Eaton, BCLS, CLS
Project Manager

Ted joined the Vector Geomatics team as a project manager in 2021. Ted graduated from the Surveying and Mapping Technology program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1990. He was commissioned as a Canada Lands Surveyor in 1993 and was commissioned as a British Columbia Land Surveyor in 1994.

Ted has worked in both the public and private sector. He has extensive experience with legal surveys in British Columbia on provincial and Canada Lands.
